Perfect House Washing & Wood Cleaning In Northport, AL
The owner of this barndominium hired us to clean his home prior to putting it and the 40 acres that comes with it on the market to sell. This particular property is a true gem in the area as it's right off of Flatwoods Road in Northport, AL.
The process of house washing wooden siding is much like cleaning a wooden fence in that low pressure is the preferred method used to eliminate the possibility of damage that a pressure washer would cause. Prepping the surface and the area calls for first spraying all of the plant life surrounding the structure, as well as the wood itself, with plain water. The purpose of this is to ensure the plant life is protected by soaking up the water rather than the cleaning agent, and ensuring the wood is cleaned, but does not soak up the cleaning agent causing cellular structural damage of the wood. After having been properly sprayed with plain water, the treated board and batten siding was then sprayed with a surfactant and sodium hypochlorite mixture from bottom to top one side at a time. The cleaning solution was allowed to dwell on the surface for approximately 20 minutes before being rinsed off using medium light pressure, and then moving to the next side. After all sides were cleaned and rinsed, all of the surrounding plant life was once again sprayed with plain water to remove any overspray that may have occurred during the rinse process.
The customer was amazed in the transformation and even called after his wife came home from work to let us know how happy she was!
***Note the white Christmas lights in the first before and after picture. The customer was planning on throwing them away, so we decided to leave them up during the wash process to show the contrasting difference between before and after.
